A matched pair of framed original Pabst Blue Ribbon advertisements, c. 1940s — presented as a diptych from the same campaign. The two panels together complete the headline: "When Smart America Steps Out — Pabst Gets the Call."

Panel 1 ("When Smart America") features illustrated high-society scenes at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington and the St. Regis in New York — elegantly dressed couples raising glasses at candlelit tables. Panel 2 ("Steps Out — Pabst Gets the Call") continues with scenes at Miami's Boney-Plaza and the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, with copy reading: "Leave it to gay young America to pick the one Beer for the peak of Pleasure… Pabst Blue Ribbon. Drink-bodied Beer—streamlined. For Keener Refreshment in Every delicious Sip…" Both professionally framed in matching black frames with glass, 11x15 inches each. Ready to hang as a pair.

Pabst Blue Ribbon was founded in Milwaukee in 1844 and by the 1940s was one of the most recognized beer brands in America. This campaign positioned PBR squarely in the world of American high society — hotel ballrooms, resort dining rooms, and the aspirational leisure class that was ready to celebrate after the Depression and wartime rationing. The Greenbrier, the St. Regis, the Mayflower — these were the most prestigious addresses in American hospitality, and PBR was putting its name on every table. As a complete diptych, these two panels tell the full story of the campaign side by side: the setting and the payoff.
