The half-moon table that does more than it looks like it should.
A demilune side table in warm walnut-toned hardwood — half-moon glass inset top, carved egg-and-dart apron, four tapered fluted legs, and a lower oval display shelf. Between the legs: a built-in metal mesh magazine and book rack, which is exactly as useful as it sounds and far less common than you’d expect. The glass top is intact. The construction is solid. This is a quality traditional piece that works against a wall, behind a sofa, or in an entryway.
The demilune form has been a staple of traditional American and European furniture for centuries — this example is a well-made 1980s–1990s interpretation with genuine detail work in the apron carving and leg profile.
