The 1976 Down Home issue of National Lampoon — cover art depicting an Elvis parody figure in a white rhinestone jumpsuit, a sash reading Elvis across the chest, microphone in hand, surrounded by camera flashes from the crowd below. The rendering is detailed and affectionate in the way only a good parody can be. Elvis was still alive when this was published. He died the following year.
