Meet the storytelling
See the places. Hear the stories.
Explore History Loves Company’s original films about historic buildings, neighborhoods and Michigan history to get a feel for Chris’s approach.
Public films show our storytelling style. Your commissioned film’s length, coverage and delivery are defined by your agreed package.
From first conversation to finished film
Here’s how it works.

Share the address, your connection to the property, the story you want to preserve and any existing photos or records.
02 · Confirm the project
Set the scope.
Agree on access, filming, research, delivery timing, revisions and intended use. Once your project is confirmed, purchase your package through The Foundry.
03 · Bring it to life
Film the story.
We develop the narrative, capture the agreed material and edit your documentary for delivery according to your project scope.
Good questions, clear answers
Before you book.
Does my home have to be listed for sale?
No. Homeowners can commission a film to preserve a place and its memories. Agents, property owners and preservation organizations can also book production.
Is this a real estate service or a referral fee?
This purchase is for documentary production by History Loves Company. The fee pays for the agreed film work and is separate from real estate representation or referral arrangements.
Will the film appear on the HLC YouTube channel?
A public YouTube feature is not included or guaranteed. Any channel placement, public release or promotional use must be discussed and agreed separately.
What is included, and what might cost extra?
Use the package descriptions as the starting point. The final scope sets filming coverage, research, interviews, editing and delivery. Travel, additional visits, extended research, archival licensing and extensive revisions may require separately agreed fees.
When will filming and delivery happen?
Dates depend on project scope, access and availability. Confirm filming and delivery timing, revision arrangements, usage and cancellation terms with Chris before purchasing. Buying a package does not automatically reserve a specific date.
Can agents and organizations work with HLC regularly?
Yes—start a conversation about recurring property films, restoration documentation or a series of stories. Each partnership is scoped separately.
Let’s begin with your story
What should people remember?
Send Chris the address and a few sentences about your project. We’ll work out the right starting point together.
Filming requires permission and appropriate property access. Historical coverage depends on available sources. A commissioned film does not guarantee a property sale or other marketing outcome.
