Grand Central Terminal opened in 1913, designed by the firms Reed & Stem and Warren & Wetmore in the Beaux-Arts style. It remains one of the most visited buildings in the world and one of the finest examples of civic architecture in the United States. Architectural elevation prints of this type were produced as commemorative and decorative pieces throughout the 20th century — popular with architects, historians, and anyone who understood what the building represented.
