The “Manchu” nickname was earned during the Boxer Rebellion in China in 1900. By 1944, the regiment was fighting across the European Theater as part of the 2nd Infantry Division — through Normandy, the Siegfried Line, the Battle of the Bulge, and into Germany. Raymond A.
